The Tahrir Monument, also known as the Freedom Monument (Nasb al-Hurriyah), is an iconic landmark in the heart of Baghdad, situated in Tahrir Square. This monument serves as a poignant reminder of the Iraqi people's strength and their journey toward democracy and stability. Erected to celebrate Iraq's declaration of independence, the monument attracts visitors from around the globe. The monument's design is a blend of modern and traditional elements, making it a cultural landmark and a visual masterpiece. The bas-relief figures on the travertine wall consciously reference ancient Mesopotamian art. These figures depict historic Iraqi events up to the 14 July Revolution led by Abdul Karim Qasim, marking the beginning of Republican rule in Iraq.
