From Dohuk city center, head southeast on the Duhok-Dam Road (also known as the Duhok-Dam Highway) for approximately 20 kilometers. Follow the signs for Duhok Dam, a prominent landmark in the area. As you approach the dam, look for signs directing you to Dostk Village. The final stretch to the village may involve local roads; follow signs or ask locals for directions. Parking is generally available near the village entrance. There are no tolls on this route.
Public Transport
From the central bus station in Dohuk, look for shared taxis or minibuses heading towards Duhok Dam. These typically depart every 30 minutes. The fare is usually around 1,000 IQD (Iraqi Dinar). Inform the driver that you would like to stop at Dostk Village. From the Duhok Dam area, you may need to walk or catch a local taxi for the final stretch of approximately 5 kilometers to reach the village. A local taxi from the dam to the village should cost approximately 2,000-3,000 IQD.
Walking
Start from the center of Dohuk, at the main square near the Dohuk Castle. Head northwest on Al-Quds Street towards the Duhok Dam. Continue walking straight for about 3 kilometers until you reach the dam area. Once you arrive at the dam, look for the path leading towards the village of Dostk, which is approximately 2 kilometers from the dam. Follow the signs or ask locals for directions to Dostk Village. This is a lengthy walk and only recommended for those comfortable with a longer trek.
