If driving from Erbil, head southwest on 40th Street (Qasr Street). Follow signs for Shaqlawa, which will lead you onto the Erbil-Shaqlawa road. Continue for about 30 kilometers (40 minutes). Look for signs indicating Mount Korek and turn onto the road leading towards the mountain. The last stretch is a winding road to the base. Parking is available near the cable car station. Driving from Erbil to Korek Mountain Resort takes approximately 1 hour and 19 minutes , and costs $4 - $7.

To reach Mount Korek via public transport, take a shared taxi or minibus from Erbil City to Shaqlawa. These depart from designated taxi stands in the city center.
