Car
From Erbil city center, head southeast on 40th Street (KDP Street) for about 3 km. Take the exit onto the Erbil-Sulaymaniyah Highway (M1). Continue for approximately 45 km until the turn-off for Mount Korek, following signs for 'Korek Mountain Resort'. After turning off the highway, follow the local roads for another 15 km to the base of Mount Korek. The drive from Erbil takes approximately 1 hour and 19 minutes. Parking is available at the resort. Expect to pay around $4-$7 for the journey.
Public Transport
From Erbil, take a taxi or minibus to Khalifan. The fare is around 5,000 to 10,000 IQD. From Khalifan, take a local taxi to Korek Mountain Resort for an additional 3,000 to 5,000 IQD. Alternatively, hike the remaining 5 kilometers from Khalifan to the resort. Ensure to negotiate the taxi fare if the driver does not have a meter.
