Getting There

• Walking

  Bastion Kitchen is located at 1 Bastion Street, in the heart of Athlone town center, making it easily accessible on foot. From the Athlone Castle, walk southwest along the river Shannon on Northgate Street, then turn left onto Bastion Street. Bastion Kitchen will be on your left. The walk is approximately 2 minutes.

• Public Transport

  If arriving by train or bus to Athlone, Bastion Kitchen is a short bus or taxi ride away. From Athlone Railway Station, take Bus Éireann routes A1 or A2 towards the town center and disembark at a stop near the Golden Island Shopping Centre. From there, it's a short walk west along the river Shannon on Northgate Street, then turn left onto Bastion Street. Bastion Kitchen will be on your left. A single bus fare is approximately €3-€5. Alternatively, a taxi from the station to Bastion Kitchen will cost around €5-€7.

• Taxi

  Taxis are readily available in Athlone. A taxi from anywhere in the town center to Bastion Kitchen should cost approximately €5-€12.50, depending on the distance. Taxi ranks are located at the train station and on Church Street. Taxi services such as Athlone Taxi, Cool Cabs and Athlone City Cabs are available.

• Parking

  If driving, parking is available near Bastion Kitchen. Pearse Court Car Park on Bastion Street is a paid car park located close to Bastion Kitchen. Parking costs approximately €1 per hour, with a daily maximum of €3. APCOA also operates parking locations in Athlone. Be aware that parking can be limited during peak hours.
