From Connemara National Park, head southeast on R344 towards Clifden. Continue on R344 for about 30 km until you reach the junction with N59. Turn left onto N59 and continue for approximately 25 km until you reach Westport. In Westport, follow signs for N59 towards Newport. Continue on N59 for around 15 km until you reach the town of Newport. At Newport, take the N59 towards Achill Sound. Follow the N59 for about 18 km, crossing the bridge over to Achill Island. Once on the island, you can explore various routes depending on where you wish to go.
