If you are traveling by car, start by navigating to Ennis, the main town in County Clare. From Ennis, take the N85 road towards Kilrush. Continue on the N85 until you reach the junction with the R487. Turn onto the R487 and follow it until you reach the town of Kilrush. In Kilrush, follow signs for Mutton Island. You'll need to park your car near the Kilrush Marina, as there are no direct roads to the island. Parking fees may apply, typically around €5 for a day.

To reach Mutton Island using public transportation, take a bus from Ennis to Kilrush. Bus Eireann operates services on this route, and you can check the schedule online. Once in Kilrush, you will need to make your way to the Kilrush Marina. Depending on the service, there may be a short walk involved. From the marina, you can take a boat tour that goes to Mutton Island. The boat ride is usually around €15 per person for a return trip.
