Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the city center, make your way to Dame Street. Look for the iconic Christ Church Cathedral; from there, head southwest along the street for about 5 minutes. You'll see the entrance to Dublin Castle on your left, just before you reach the intersection with Parliament Street. The State Apartments are located within the castle complex.

  • Bus

    Catch a bus heading towards Dame Street. Buses 15, 27, or 54A frequently run from various points in the city. Alight at the Dame Street stop, which is near the entrance to Dublin Castle. From the bus stop, walk a short distance to the entrance on your left side. The State Apartments are inside the castle grounds.

  • LuAS (Tram)

    Take the LuAS red line tram towards The Point. Get off at the Jervis stop. From Jervis, walk southeast towards the River Liffey, cross the river using the pedestrian bridge, and continue straight onto Dame Street. After about 10 minutes, you will see Dublin Castle on your left. Enter the castle to find the State Apartments.

  • Taxi

    You can hail a taxi from anywhere in Dublin. Simply tell the driver 'Dublin Castle' or provide the address: 'Dame Street, Dublin 2'. The taxi will drop you off right at the entrance to the castle, where you can access the State Apartments.
