Getting There

  • Walking

    From Dublin Castle, exit through the main gate and head west on Dame Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with George's Street. Turn left onto George's Street and walk towards the River Liffey. Cross the river via the O'Connell Bridge. Once across, continue straight onto O'Connell Street, then turn right onto Parnell Square North. Head north until you reach the intersection with the Clonliffe Road. Take a left onto Clonliffe Road and follow it until you reach the entrance of Phoenix Park. Ashtown Castle is located within Phoenix Park. Once inside, follow the path signs to reach Ashtown Castle, which will be a short walk within the park.

    From Dublin Castle, walk to the nearest bus stop on Dame Street. Take the number 46A bus towards 'Dun Laoghaire'. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the stop 'Phoenix Park'. From the bus stop, walk straight towards Phoenix Park. Ashtown Castle is located within the park, and you can follow the signs to reach it. Note that a single bus fare is approximately €2.00.
