Car
From Glendalough, head west on the R756. Continue on this road for approximately 10 kilometers until you reach the junction with the N81. Turn right onto the N81 and continue for about 6 kilometers. Take the exit towards Wicklow Town, and after about 2 kilometers, turn left onto the S Quay. Black Castle will be on your right. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that parking fees may apply.
Public Transportation
From Glendalough, take the bus to Wicklow Town. Check local schedules as bus times may vary. Once you arrive in Wicklow Town, disembark at the Wicklow Town bus stop. From there, it is a short 15-minute walk to Black Castle. Head south on the Main Street, then turn right onto the S Quay. Black Castle will be on your right. Make sure to check the bus schedule for return trips back to Glendalough.

If you are already in Wicklow Town, you can walk to Black Castle. Start at the bus stop in Wicklow Town and head south on the Main Street, then turn right onto the S Quay. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers. Black Castle will be on your right. This walk offers beautiful views of the surrounding area.
