Getting There

Car
Start your journey in Glendalough by heading southwest on the R756 road towards the town of Laragh. Follow the R756 for about 5 kilometers until you reach the junction with the R755. Turn right onto the R755 and continue for approximately 4 kilometers until you reach the junction with the N11 motorway. Merge onto the N11 towards Dublin and follow signs for Dublin. Continue on the N11 for about 30 kilometers until you reach the M50 motorway interchange. Take the M50 towards Dublin and follow it for about 10 kilometers before taking the exit for the N4 towards the city center. Continue on the N4 until it merges into the R148. Follow the signs for the city center, and finally, turn onto Dame Street, where you will find Dublin Castle located at Dame St, Dublin 2. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that fees may apply.

Public Transportation
From Glendalough, make your way to the nearest bus stop, which should be on the R756 road. Take the 183 bus towards Dublin, which operates regularly. The bus ride will take approximately 50 minutes to reach the City Centre. Get off at the stop 'Dame Street' which is a short walk from Dublin Castle. Once you exit the bus, walk towards Dame St, and you will see Dublin Castle ahead. Note that there is a fare for the bus, which you can pay using a Leap Card or cash.
