From Killarney town center, head west towards the Killarney National Park. Walk along Main Street until you reach the junction with the N71 road. Turn left onto the N71 and follow this road for approximately 3 kilometers. You will pass by the Killarney Outlet Centre on your left. Continue walking until you reach the junction for the Gap of Dunloe.

Catch a bus from Killarney to Kate Kearney's Cottage. Buses to Kate Kearney’s run frequently from the Killarney bus station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Kate Kearney's Cottage, you can start your hike towards the Gap of Dunloe, which is approximately a 20-minute walk from there. Follow the signs for the Gap of Dunloe.
