If you are traveling by car, navigate to Tullamore in County Offaly. From Dublin, take the M7 motorway towards Limerick. Exit at Junction 20 and follow the N52 towards Tullamore. Once you reach Tullamore, follow signs for Charleville Castle, which is located in Charleville Demesne. Parking is available near the castle, but be sure to check for any signage regarding parking fees.
Public Transportation (Train)
For those using public transportation, take a train from Dublin Heuston Station to Tullamore. Trains run regularly, and the journey takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive at Tullamore station, you can either walk (approximately 30 minutes) to Charleville Castle or take a taxi, which should cost around €10-€15. Walking directions: Head south on Clara Road, then turn left onto the N52, continuing until you reach the castle entrance.
Public Transportation (Bus)
If you prefer to travel by bus, you can take a Bus Éireann service from Dublin to Tullamore. The bus journey typically takes around 2 to 2.5 hours. Upon arriving in Tullamore, you can walk to Charleville Castle (approximately 30 minutes) or take a local taxi for about €10-€15. For walking, exit the bus station and head south on Clara Road, then turn left onto the N52 until you reach the castle.
