From Mizen Head, take the R591 road heading north. Follow the R591 for approximately 25 km (about 30 minutes). You will go through the towns of Goleen and then onto the N71 road. Continue on the N71 until you reach the town of Bantry. In Bantry, take the R586 towards Glengarriff. From Glengarriff, follow the signs for the R574 which will lead you directly to the village of Allihies. Once in Allihies, keep an eye out for the Allihies Copper Mine Museum, which is located at Cloan, Beara, Co. Cork. It is well-signposted and should be on your right as you enter the village.
