From the Mourne Mountains area, head towards Newcastle. If you're starting from the popular Mourne Wall hiking area, take the B180 road towards Newcastle. Continue for about 10 miles (16 km) until you reach the A2 coastal road. Turn left onto the A2 and follow the signs for Dundrum. After approximately 3 miles (5 km), you will see signs for Murlough National Nature Reserve. Turn right onto Murlough Road, and you will find the entrance to the nature reserve. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a small fee for parking.

If you are using public transport, the nearest bus station is in Newcastle. From there, take the bus service towards Dundrum (check the local bus schedules for exact times). Get off at the stop for Murlough Road. From the bus stop, it’s about a 10-minute walk to the entrance of Murlough National Nature Reserve.
