Getting There

  • Walking

    Starting from the Salthill Promenade, face the sea and walk along the promenade heading west. Continue walking until you reach the end of the promenade, which should take around 15 minutes. You will see the Claddagh area to your left. Turn left onto the coastal path and follow the path as it curves around the coastline. Keep an eye out for signs pointing towards the Seal Colony Viewpoint. The walk will take you approximately 30 minutes from the end of the promenade.

    From Salthill, walk to the nearest bus stop located by the main road (Sea Road). Take the number 404 bus towards Oughterard. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for 'Oghil.' Once you disembark, follow the signs directing you to the Seal Colony Viewpoint, which is a short walk from the bus stop, approximately 10 minutes.
