From Tralee Town Centre, head south on Castle Street towards the Market Square. Continue straight onto the Denny Street, which will lead you out of the town. After about 1 kilometer, you will reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto the N21 road towards Killarney. Follow the road for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the town of Killarney. Once in Killarney, head towards the Gap of Dunloe. You can either walk or take a local bus to Kate Kearney's Cottage, which is located at the entrance to the Gap of Dunloe. The pub is situated at the starting point of the gap, and you will easily notice it by its charming exterior.
Bus
From Tralee, you can take a bus to Killarney. The bus station is located on the side of the Tralee Town Park. Look for the Bus Éireann services that travel to Killarney. The journey takes about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at Killarney Bus Station, head towards the town center and catch a local bus or taxi to Kate Kearney's Cottage, located at the Gap of Dunloe. The bus will drop you off near the entrance to the gap, and the cottage is a short walk from there.
Bicycle
For a more adventurous route, you can rent a bicycle in Tralee and cycle to Killarney. Head out of Tralee on the N21 road, following the same route as the walking instructions. Cycling offers a scenic view of the countryside. Once you reach Killarney, you can continue cycling towards the Gap of Dunloe. Make sure to follow the cycling paths and be cautious of traffic.
