Walking
From the center of Waterford, head towards the Waterford Greenway, which is located at the old railway station. Follow the signs leading to the Greenway. Once on the Greenway, continue westward towards the town of Dungarvan. Enjoy the scenic views as you walk along the path. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach the Ballyvoyle Tunnel. The tunnel is located between the towns of Kilmacthomas and Ballyvoyle, so keep an eye on the signs for the tunnel as you approach.

Cycling
Start at the Waterford City center and make your way to the Waterford Greenway. Rent a bike from one of the local rental shops if you do not have one. Once on the Greenway, pedal west towards Dungarvan. The entire route is about 46 kilometers, but the Ballyvoyle Tunnel is approximately 10 kilometers from Waterford. As you cycle, enjoy the views of the countryside and the river. Look for signs indicating the Ballyvoyle Tunnel as you near it. The tunnel is a popular stop, so you will likely see other cyclists there.

Take a bus from Waterford to Kilmacthomas. Buses run regularly from the Waterford Bus Station to Kilmacthomas, which is the nearest town to the tunnel. Once you arrive in Kilmacthomas, exit the bus and follow the signs to the Greenway, which is just a short walk from the bus stop. Head west on the Greenway, and after about 5 kilometers, you will reach the Ballyvoyle Tunnel. The route is well-marked, and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way.
