Car
If you are traveling by car, start from the center of Bolzano. Drive northwest on Via della Stazione towards Via dei Portici. Continue straight onto Via Dr. Friedrich Tappeiner which will take you through the city. After approximately 1.5 km, you'll arrive at the entrance to the trail leading to Bildstocksteig. There is limited parking available near the trailhead, so be sure to arrive early to secure a spot.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take the local bus service from Bolzano. Board the bus route 10 or 11 at the Bolzano main bus station (Piazza della Stazione). The journey takes around 20 minutes, and you should alight at the stop 'Piazza Walther'. From there, walk to Via Dr. Friedrich Tappeiner, and follow the signs to Bildstocksteig. Note that a single bus ticket costs approximately 2.50 EUR.
Walking
If you prefer to walk from the center of Bolzano, it's about a 30-minute walk to Bildstocksteig. Start from Walther Square, head southwest on Via dei Portici until you reach Via Dr. Friedrich Tappeiner. Follow this road, which will lead you directly to the trailhead.
