Car
If you're driving from Bolzano, take the SS12 road towards the north. After about 5 kilometers, take the exit for Jenesien. Follow the signs for Jenesien (Jenesien is a village) and continue on SP84. After approximately 10 kilometers, you will reach the village of Glaning. Greinfenstein Castle is located a short distance from Glaning, and you can park your car in designated areas nearby. Note that parking may incur a fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Greinfenstein Castle using public transportation, start at Bolzano's main train station. Take bus line 10 towards Jenesien. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Disembark at the Glaning stop. From the bus stop, Greinfenstein Castle is a short 15-minute walk up the hill, following the signs for the castle. Ensure you check the local bus schedule for return trips, as service may be limited, especially on weekends.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of Glaning and prefer walking, the castle is accessible via a marked hiking trail. Starting from Glaning, follow the signs towards Greinfenstein Castle. The hike is moderately steep and takes about 30 minutes, offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
