Getting There

Car
If you're driving, start from Aosta and take the A5 motorway towards Courmayeur. Follow the signs for Courmayeur and continue until you reach the town. From Courmayeur, take the SS26 road towards Pré-Saint-Didier. After approximately 8 km, you will reach the entrance of the Mont Blanc Tunnel. Pass through the tunnel (note: there is a toll fee for the tunnel, approximately €45 for cars). Once you exit in France, follow the signs to Chamonix and then continue to Zermatt via the A40 and A41. Upon arriving in Zermatt, park your car in the designated parking area, as Zermatt is a car-free village.

Public Transportation
From Aosta, take a train to Châtillon. This journey takes about 30 minutes. At Châtillon, transfer to a bus that goes directly to Zermatt. The bus ride will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Once in Zermatt, you will need to walk to the Gornergrat Bahn station. The train ride from Zermatt to Gornergrat takes about 30 minutes. From Gornergrat, you can hike to Breithornplateau or take a guided tour.
