Car
If you are driving from Bari, take the A14 highway towards Taranto. After about 55 km, take the exit towards Matera (SS7). Continue on SS7 for approximately 60 km until you reach Matera. Once in Matera, follow the signs to the city center. Piazza delle Costellazioni is located in the historic district, and you can park at nearby public parking areas. Look for signs directing you to the 'Centro Storico' or 'Piazza delle Costellazioni' once you are in the area.
Public Transportation
To reach Matera by public transport, start from Bari Centrale train station. Take a train to Matera, which usually requires a transfer at Ferrandina. The train journey takes approximately 2 hours. Upon arriving at Matera train station, exit and look for the bus stop outside the station. You can take a local bus (line 1) that goes to the city center. Get off at 'Piazza Vittorio Veneto' and walk towards the historic center; follow the signs to 'Piazza delle Costellazioni'. It is about a 15-minute walk from the bus stop.
