Walking
Start from the main square in Assisi, Piazza del Comune. Head southeast towards Via Santa Chiara, then turn left onto Via Santa Chiara. Continue walking straight until you reach the end of the road, where it intersects with Via San Francesco. Turn right onto Via San Francesco and continue until you reach the entrance to the Parco del Monte Subasio, which is well-marked.
Hiking
Once you reach the Parco del Monte Subasio, follow the marked trails that lead upwards towards Mount Subasio. The main trail starts at the park entrance and is well-maintained. Follow the signs for 'Monte Subasio' and enjoy the scenic views as you ascend. The hike can take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace.
Public Transport
From Assisi, you can take a local bus from the Assisi bus station to the nearby village of Spello. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Once in Spello, look for the signs or ask locals for directions to the trailhead leading to Mount Subasio. The trails from Spello also connect to the main paths leading to the summit.
