Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the Città Alta (Upper Town) of Bergamo, make your way to the San Vigilio funicular station. Take the funicular down to the Città Bassa (Lower Town). Once you exit the funicular, walk straight down Via G. Garibaldi. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Viale Vittorio Emanuele II. Turn left onto Viale Vittorio Emanuele II, and continue walking until you reach Piazza Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour. The Gaetano Donizetti Theater is located at P.za Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, 15, right on the square.

• Public Transport - Bus

  From the main train station (Stazione di Bergamo), take bus number 1 towards Orio al Serio Airport. Get off at the stop 'Piazza Matteotti.' From there, walk towards the left side of the square onto Via XX Settembre. Continue walking straight until you reach Piazza Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour. The theater is located at P.za Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour, 15.

• Public Transport - Tram

  If you are near the Bergamo Cathedral in the Città Alta, walk to the nearest tram stop called 'Piazza Mercato delle Scarpe.' Take the tram line 1 down to 'Stazione FS.' From there, transfer to bus line 6 towards 'Città Bassa.' Get off at the stop 'Piazza Matteotti.' Walk towards Via XX Settembre, and then head to Piazza Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour where the Gaetano Donizetti Theater is located.

  If you are near the central square, Piazza Vecchia, walk towards Via Colleoni and continue until you reach the intersection with Via G. Garibaldi. Turn left onto Via G. Garibaldi and walk straight until you reach Viale Vittorio Emanuele II. Turn left and continue along the road until you reach Piazza Camillo Benso Conte di Cavour.
