Walking
If you're in Città Bassa, you can easily walk to Porta San Giacomo. Start at the main square, Piazza Matteotti. Head east on Via XX Settembre until you reach the intersection with Via Sant'Alessandro. Turn left onto Via Sant'Alessandro. Continue straight for about 700 meters. You will see Porta San Giacomo on your right, just after passing the intersection with Via San Giovanni.

You can take a bus from Città Bassa to Porta San Giacomo. Head to the nearest bus stop, which might be on Via XX Settembre. Look for bus line 1 or 8, which goes towards the upper town (Città Alta). Get off at the stop 'Funicolare', which is close to Porta San Giacomo. From the bus stop, walk approximately 400 meters back down Via Sant'Alessandro to reach the landmark.
