From the central Catania bus station (Via Archimede), take the bus to Nicolosi. Look for the bus labeled 'Nicolosi' – they are usually operated by the company called SAIS. The ride takes approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Nicolosi, get off at the main square (Piazza Vittorio Emanuele).

From Piazza Vittorio Emanuele in Nicolosi, head southeast on Via Roma towards Via Catania. Continue walking straight on Via Roma until you reach the intersection with Via Etnea. Turn left onto Via Etnea and follow it for about 1.5 km. You will see signs for Crateri Barbagallo as you approach. The entrance is located at the base of Mount Etna, where you can start your hike.
