Getting There

  • Bus

    From Catania, head to the central bus station (Stazione Autobus) located at Via Archimede, 10. You can take bus line 4 or walk, as it is approximately 1 km from the city center. At the bus station, purchase a ticket for the AST bus heading to 'Nicolosi' or 'Etna'. The journey takes about 1 hour. Get off at the 'Nicolosi - Etna Sud' stop, which is one of the main access points to Mount Etna.

  • Funivia (Cable Car)

    Once you arrive at 'Nicolosi - Etna Sud', look for signs directing you to the Funivia dell'Etna (cable car). The cable car station is a short walk from the bus stop. Purchase a ticket for the cable car, which takes you up to approximately 2,500 meters. This provides stunning views of the volcano and takes about 15 minutes.
