Car
If you are traveling by car, head towards Greve in Chianti. From Florence, take the SS222 road towards Greve. Once in Greve, follow signs for Località Vicchio. Castello Vicchiomaggio will be located approximately 4 km from the center of Greve, on your right side. There is parking available at the castle.
Public Transportation
To reach Castello Vicchiomaggio via public transportation, take a bus from Florence to Greve in Chianti. The bus service, operated by Linee Chianti, departs from the main bus station in Florence (Santa Maria Novella). Once you arrive in Greve, you can either walk or take a taxi to Località Vicchio, which is about a 4 km distance from the town center. Expect a taxi ride to cost around €10-15.
Walking from Greve
If you prefer to walk from Greve in Chianti to Castello Vicchiomaggio, start at the main square (Piazza Matteotti) and head southeast on Via Roma. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Località Vicchio. The walk is about 4 km and will take approximately 50 minutes. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
