If you are traveling by car, head towards the city of Udine. From the A23 motorway, take the Udine Nord exit. Follow signs for the city center, which will lead you onto Via Leonardo da Vinci. Continue straight until you reach the roundabout and take the second exit onto Via Cividale. Follow this road until you reach the intersection with Via dei Rizzi, then turn right. Continue on this road, and after approximately 2 kilometers, you will find the Italienische Festung on your left at the coordinates 46.5224, 13.7134. Parking is available nearby, but be aware that some areas may require a small fee.

Upon arriving at Udine train station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located adjacent to the train station. Take bus number 5 or 7 towards 'Cividale del Friuli' and get off at the 'Rizzi' stop. From there, it is a 15-minute walk to the Italienische Festung. Head northeast on Via dei Rizzi, and after approximately 1.5 kilometers, you will reach the fortress. Ensure to check the bus schedule for return times as they may vary.
