If you are starting from the Lucca Cathedral (Duomo di Lucca), exit the cathedral and head towards Piazza San Martino. From there, take Via San Martino, which will lead you out of the square. Continue walking straight until you reach Piazza Napoleone. As you approach the square, you will see the Palazzo Ducale on your left, located at Cortile Carrara, 1. The entrance is located on the side facing the square.
