Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from the historic center of Lucca, make your way to Piazza San Michele. From there, exit the square and head towards Via Fillungo, the main shopping street. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Viale Giuseppe Mazzini. Turn left onto Viale Giuseppe Mazzini. Follow the road until you reach the walls of the city. Continue walking along the walls, which are well marked. Look for signs indicating 'Viale delle Mura Urbane'. After a short walk along the walls, you will see the entrance to Saint Pietro Bulwark on your right side at Viale delle Mura Urbane, 55100 Lucca.

• Bicycle

  If you prefer to ride a bicycle, you can rent one from various rental shops in the city center. Start from Piazza San Michele and head towards Via Fillungo. Continue to Viale Giuseppe Mazzini and then to the city walls. There is a dedicated cycling path along the walls. Ride along this path, and you will see the entrance to Saint Pietro Bulwark on your right at Viale delle Mura Urbane, 55100 Lucca. It’s a pleasant ride with lovely views.

• Public Transport

  While Lucca is a small city and primarily navigable by foot or bicycle, you can take a bus if you are further away. Check the local bus schedule for routes that head towards 'Mura' or 'Viale delle Mura Urbane'. Once you arrive at the nearest bus stop, exit and walk towards the city walls. Follow the wall path until you see the entrance to Saint Pietro Bulwark at Viale delle Mura Urbane, 55100 Lucca.
