Getting There

    From the A12 Genova-Livorno motorway, take the Sarzana exit. Follow signs towards Carrara on the Aurelia state road. Between Sarzana and Carrara, look for the Fosdinovo turnoff and ascend approximately 6 kilometers to reach the destination. Note that access to the car park is only possible by entering from the north side of the town. Avoid Via Mazzini; instead, proceed until you spot a small petrol station in front of the Bar il Mulino beneath the castle. From there, take the road, make three curves, and enter the medieval gate of the village. Continue upwards, keeping to the right, and you will find the open parking lot. Parking: Free parking is available in Piazza del Castello.

    The nearest railway station is Sarzana. From Sarzana, take a CTT bus to Fosdinovo. The L45 bus line is one option. Get off at Porta Di Sotto, which is a short walk to the castle. Cost: - Train from Florence to Sarzana: €8-€26 - Bus from Sarzana to Fosdinovo: Approximately €1-€3.
