Inspired by Antoni Gaudí's Park Güell in Barcelona and the Bomarzo Monster Park, de Saint Phalle began constructing her garden in 1979, a project that would span over two decades. The garden opened to the public in 1998 and showcases 22 monumental sculptures representing the Major Arcana of the Tarot deck.
