Getting There
Walking
From the Modena train station (Stazione di Modena), exit the station and head east on Viale Vittorio Veneto. Walk straight for about 1 km until you reach the intersection with Viale Martiri della Libertà. Turn left onto Viale Martiri della Libertà and continue walking for approximately 600 meters until you reach the historical center of Modena. From there, follow the signs to Piazza della Libertà, and then walk towards the direction of Piazza XX Settembre. Porta Galliera will be located at the end of the square, visible from a distance.
Public Transport - Bus
From the Modena train station (Stazione di Modena), catch bus number 7 or 9 from the bus stop located just outside the station. Ride the bus for about 3 stops (approximately 10 minutes) and get off at the stop named 'Piazza della Libertà'. Once you exit the bus, walk straight towards the historic center and you will soon find yourself at Piazza XX Settembre, where Porta Galliera is located.
Bicycle
If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from one of the bike-sharing stations near the Modena train station. Start by heading east on Viale Vittorio Veneto, then take a left onto Viale Martiri della Libertà. Continue cycling for about 1 km until you reach Piazza della Libertà. From there, follow the signs to Piazza XX Settembre. Porta Galliera will be located at the end of the square, and there are bike racks available for parking.
