The collection began with Michele Praitano, who passionately collected art for over fifty years, both in Italy and abroad, and later donated his collection to the state in 2014.The museum's six 'sugar paper' colored rooms display the art collection. The collection also includes works from Giovanni Eliseo and Giuseppe Ottavio Eliseo. The museum displays approximately 160 works spanning from the 17th-century Neapolitan era to a substantial collection of works by Molise artists.
