Discover more about Tenuta Tenaglia

Tenuta Tenaglia, a winery with over 400 years of history, is located at the foot of the Sacro Monte di Crea in Serralunga di Crea, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The estate's name comes from Giorgio Tenaglia, the Governor of Moncalvo in the 17th century, who used the estate for winemaking, horse breeding, and artistic pursuits. He even commissioned local artists to create some of the chapels in the Sanctuary of Crea. The terroir of Serralunga di Crea is characterized by its marine origin, with clayey soil over layers of ancient marl, giving the wines a unique mineral richness. The vineyards, located 450 meters above sea level, form an amphitheater around the estate. Tenuta Tenaglia cultivates native Monferrato vines and is known for producing Barbera d'Asti, Barbera del Monferrato, and Grignolino del Monferrato Casalese. The Ehrmann family, who took over the estate in 2000, continues the tradition of winemaking with a focus on sustainability. Visitors can explore the historic cellars, taste the estate's wines, and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Monferrato region. The winery also hosts art residencies, blending social innovation with heritage.
