Discover more about Avignonesi Winery Fattoria Le Capezzine

Avignonesi Winery, located in the heart of Montepulciano, offers an immersive experience into the world of Tuscan winemaking with a focus on biodynamic and organic practices. Named after the Avignonesi family, who established the estate, the winery has a rich history dating back to the 16th century. In 2009, Virginie Saverys, a Belgian owner, took over the estate and began its transformation into a fully organic and biodynamic operation. The estate spans 170 hectares of vineyards and is known for its Sangiovese wines, with 60-70 types of Sangiovese used. Avignonesi produces wines that reflect the terroir, using natural winemaking techniques. Besides Sangiovese, they also produce rosato, white wine, and Vin Santo. Visitors can take a tour of the vineyards, the cantina, and aging rooms, and learn about the winemaking process from grape to bottle. Wine tasting experiences are available at the wine bar, where you can sample a variety of Avignonesi's wines. For a more immersive experience, visitors can participate in cooking classes, enjoy a gourmet lunch paired with Avignonesi wines, or even take a hot air balloon ride over the Tuscan countryside.
