Walking
If you are starting from the center of Perugia, head towards the main square, Piazza IV Novembre. From there, follow the Via dei Priori, which will lead you to the escalators at the end of the street. Take the escalators down to the lower part of the city. Once you reach the bottom, turn left onto Via del Melo and continue straight until you reach the bus stop at Piazza della Repubblica. From there, catch the bus to Cortona. The bus ride will take approximately 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive in Cortona, follow the signs to the Fortress of Girifalco, which is about a 15-minute walk uphill from the bus station.

Public Transport
From Perugia, make your way to the main train station, Stazione di Perugia. You can either walk or take a local bus to reach the station. Once at the station, buy a ticket for the train heading to Camucia-Cortona. The train journey takes about 30 minutes. After arriving at Camucia-Cortona station, exit the station and take Bus Line E. This bus will take you directly to Cortona. Get off at the stop named 'Cortona - Fortezza di Girifalco'. From there, it’s a short 10-minute walk uphill to the fortress.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Perugia to the Fortress of Girifalco in Cortona. Simply find a taxi stand in the city center or call a local taxi service.
