Walking
Starting from the Pisa Centrale train station, exit the station and head southeast on Via Francesco Crispi. Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the intersection with Via S. Martino. Turn right onto Via S. Martino and walk for another 300 meters. You will reach Piazza dei Miracoli, home to the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa. Take a moment to enjoy the sights here. From Piazza dei Miracoli, head south towards Via Mazzini. Continue straight until you reach the river Arno. Cross the Ponte di Mezzo bridge and follow the riverbank walking path along Lungarno Mediceo. After approximately 1 km, you will reach the next bridge, Ponte della Libertà. Cross this bridge, and continue straight ahead until you reach the Via Roma. Follow Via Roma until you reach the entrance to Fortezza Vecchia.
