Travel Guide to Piazza Matteotti

Getting There

• Walking

  If you are at Pisa Centrale train station, exit the station and head towards the main road (Viale Gramsci). Turn left and walk down Viale Gramsci until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Via Raffaele Boccioni. Continue walking straight on this road for about 1 kilometer, where you will pass several shops and cafes on your right. Eventually, you will see signs for the bus station. Keep walking until you reach the intersection with Via Giuseppe Mazzini. Turn right onto Via Giuseppe Mazzini and continue straight until you reach Piazza Matteotti.

• Bus

  From Pisa Centrale train station, head to the bus terminal located just outside the station. Look for the bus stop for Line 1 or Line 2, which both head towards the city center. Purchase a ticket from the machines or at the ticket counter. Board the bus and travel for approximately 10 minutes. Get off at the stop called 'Piazza dei Miracoli'. Once you exit the bus, walk straight ahead towards Via Giuseppe Mazzini, and you will see signs directing you towards Piazza Matteotti, which is a short 5-minute walk away.

• Bicycle

  If you're looking to rent a bicycle, there are several rental shops near Pisa Centrale. Once you have a bike, exit the station and head towards Viale Gramsci. Ride down Viale Gramsci until you reach the roundabout. Take the second exit onto Via Raffaele Boccioni and continue straight. This route is approximately 2 kilometers long and takes you through some scenic areas of Pisa. Follow the signs towards the city center and Piazza Matteotti should be easily accessible as you approach the main square.
