Walking
From the Pompeii archaeological site, exit through the main gate and head towards the Pompeii train station (Stazione di Pompei). It is about a 15-minute walk. Once you reach the station, purchase a ticket to Naples. Board the Circumvesuviana train towards Naples. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Porta Nolana' station. From there, you will need to walk towards Via Pietrarsa. Head east on Via Porta Nolana, then turn left onto Via G. Garibaldi. Continue straight until you reach Via Pietrarsa, and the Museo Nazionale Ferroviario di Pietrarsa will be on your right.

After visiting the archaeological site, walk to the Pompeii train station (Stazione di Pompei), which is a short 15-minute walk from the exit. Buy a ticket for the Circumvesuviana train to Naples. Once you arrive at Naples, switch to the Metro Line 2 at Garibaldi station towards Pozzuoli. Alight at San Giovanni and switch to Line 1 towards Piscinola. Get off at the 'Gianturco' station. From there, walk towards Via Pietrarsa, which is approximately a 20-minute walk. The museum will be on your right.
