Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from the Trevi Fountain, walk to the nearby Via delle Muratte and head towards the Piazza Barberini. From there, take the Metro Line A (the red line) from Barberini station towards Anagnina. Get off at the next stop, which is Termini. At Termini, switch to Metro Line B (the blue line) and take it towards Laurentina. Get off at the Circo Massimo station. From Circo Massimo, exit the station and walk towards the Via di San Gregorio, which leads to the Palatine Hill. Continue walking up the hill until you reach the Via Garibaldi. Follow Via Garibaldi until you reach the Salita di Sant'Onofrio, where Janiculum Hill is located.

  • Bus

    From the Colosseum, walk to the nearby bus stop at Piazza del Colosseo. Take Bus 81 towards Stazione Trastevere. After about 10 stops, get off at the 'Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi' stop. From there, it is a short walk up to Janiculum Hill. Follow the signs that direct you to 'Gianicolo' and you will reach the scenic viewpoints and gardens on the hill.

  • Tram

    If you are near the Vatican City, walk to the nearest tram stop at Piazza del Risorgimento. Take Tram 19 towards the stop 'Largo di Torre Argentina'. Once you get off, walk towards the Tiber River and follow the riverside path until you reach the Ponte Sisto. Cross the bridge and then head up to the Gianicolo (Janiculum Hill) following the signs. You can access the hill via Via Garibaldi.
