From the main piazza, Piazza della Cisterna, head northeast on Via San Giovanni. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via di San Matteo. Turn left onto Via di San Matteo and follow it until you reach the end of the street. Here, you will find yourself at the base of the hill. Continue uphill on the same street and you'll see the entrance to the historic area. Once you enter the historic area, look for signs directing you to Via Giovanni Boccaccio. Follow the signs, and after a short walk, you will arrive at Via Giovanni Boccaccio, where you will find Boccaccio's house.

Walking
If you are near the Collegiata di San Gimignano, exit the church and head southwest on Via San Giovanni. At the intersection with Via di San Matteo, turn right. Continue walking along this street, and upon reaching the end, head uphill to the historic area. Look for the signs leading you to Via Giovanni Boccaccio. Follow these signs, and you will soon reach Boccaccio's house.

From the Porta San Giovanni, enter the town and proceed straight until you reach the first major intersection. At this intersection, turn left onto Via San Giovanni. Continue straight and then turn right onto Via di San Matteo. Follow this road uphill, passing by various shops and cafes.
