Getting There
Walking
From the center of San Gimignano, head towards the main road, Via San Giovanni. Walk straight until you reach the intersection with Via Roma. Turn right onto Via Roma and continue walking until you see the bus station on your left. From there, take a bus to Florence. Once you arrive at the main bus station in Florence (Firenze S.M.N.), follow the signs to the tram or take a local bus to reach the city center.

Locate the bus station in San Gimignano. Purchase a ticket to Florence, and board the bus. The journey takes approximately 1 hour. Upon arriving at the bus terminal in Florence, head towards the tram station. Catch tram line T1 towards 'Careggi' and get off at 'Piazza della Libertà'. From there, it’s a 15-minute walk to Palazzo Pitti. Head south on Via della Libertà, then turn right onto Via dei Fossi, and follow the signs to Palazzo Pitti.
Bicycle
If you are feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle in San Gimignano. Start by heading down Via San Giovanni towards the main road. Continue along the scenic route towards Florence, which takes about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Make sure to follow the cycling paths, and use a map or GPS to navigate. Upon reaching Florence, park your bicycle at a designated bike parking area and walk to Palazzo Pitti, which is located in the Oltrarno district.
