Car
If you are driving to Piazza Università in Catania, you can start from the Catania-Fontanarossa Airport. Exit the airport and take the SS114 road towards Catania. Continue on SS114 for about 6 km until you reach the city center. Follow signs for 'Centro' and merge onto Via Etnea. Continue straight on Via Etnea for approximately 2 km until you reach Piazza Università, which will be on your right. There is limited parking available in the area, so be prepared to find street parking or use a nearby parking garage.
Public Transportation
To reach Piazza Università using public transportation, start at the Catania-Fontanarossa Airport. Take the AMT Alibus, which is a shuttle service that connects the airport to the city center. The journey takes about 20 minutes and costs around €4. Get off at the last stop, which is near the central train station (Stazione Centrale). From there, you can walk to Piazza Università. Head north on Via Etnea; it will take about 15 minutes on foot. You will pass various shops and cafes along the way, making it a pleasant walk.
Train
If you are traveling from another city in Sicily, you can take a train to Catania Centrale. Once you arrive at Catania Centrale, exit the train station and head towards Via Etnea. You can either walk (approximately 20 minutes) or take a local bus. If you choose to walk, head north on Via Etnea, and after about 1.5 km, you will reach Piazza Università. If you prefer the bus, catch a local bus from the station that goes towards 'Piazza Duomo' or 'Centro,' which will take you directly to the square.
