From Siena, head to the main bus station, 'Stazione dei bus', located near Piazza Gramsci. Look for the bus line to Asciano. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive in Asciano, get off at the 'Asciano' bus stop. From there, you can either walk to the Abbey (approximately 2 km) or take a local taxi.

Walking
If you're in the center of Siena, you can start at Piazza del Campo. Head south down Via di Città, then turn left onto Via Banchi di Sotto. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Via delle Terme. Turn right and follow the road towards the hills until you reach the outskirts of Siena. This walk is about 10 km and takes roughly 2 hours, but it offers beautiful views of the Tuscan countryside.

Bicycle
For a more adventurous option, rent a bicycle from one of the shops in Siena. Head out of the city towards the south on Strada Statale 73. The route is approximately 10 km to Monte Oliveto Maggiore and will take around 40 minutes. There are scenic bike paths along the way, but be cautious of traffic.
