Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the center of Merano, heading towards Val Venosta. Take the SS38 road, which leads directly towards Lagundo. Follow the signs for 'Lagundo' and 'Schloss Forst.' After approximately 10 km, you'll reach the castle, located on Strada del Passo dello Stelvio, 7. There is parking available near the castle, but please note that depending on the season, there may be a small parking fee.
Public Transportation
For those using public transport, take a train from Merano to Lagundo. Trains run frequently, and the journey takes about 10 minutes. Once you arrive at Lagundo, exit the train station and look for the bus stop for Line 5 or 6, which goes towards 'Schloss Forst.' The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Schloss Forst' stop. Be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as the frequency may vary, especially in off-peak seasons.
Walking
If you are already in Lagundo and prefer to walk, you can enjoy a scenic 30-minute walk to Schloss Forst. From the center of Lagundo, head north on Via Verdine towards Strada del Passo dello Stelvio. Continue straight until you reach Schloss Forst. The path is well marked and offers beautiful views of the surrounding landscape.
