Car
From any location in Val Venosta, head towards the town of Silandro (Schlanders). From Silandro, take the SS38 road towards Mals (Malles Venosta). After approximately 10 km, take the exit for Schlinig. Follow the signs to Schlinig, and continue driving until you reach the village of Schlinig. There is a parking area available just before the hiking trail starts towards Sesvennahütte.
Public Transportation
If you are using public transportation, take a train to Mals (Malles Venosta). From Mals, you can catch a local bus towards Schlinig. The bus stop you need is located in the center of Mals. Check the timetable for the bus to ensure it aligns with your plans, as the frequency may vary. The bus will take you directly to Schlinig, where you can find the starting point for the hike to Sesvennahütte.
Hiking
Once you arrive in Schlinig (either by car or bus), you will see the trailhead for the hike to Sesvennahütte. The hike is approximately 4 km and takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the hut. Follow the marked hiking trail which is well-maintained. Make sure to wear appropriate hiking shoes and carry water, as there are no services along the trail. Enjoy the beautiful scenery along the way!
Costs
If you choose to take the bus from Mals to Schlinig, the fare is typically around €5. Parking in Schlinig is usually free, but please check local signs for any updates. Additionally, be prepared for any potential fees at Sesvennahütte if you plan to eat or stay overnight.
