    If you are driving, start from the center of Aso city. Take Route 57 heading towards Takawara. Follow the road for approximately 8 kilometers. You will see signs directing you to Mount Aso. Turn right onto Takawara Road, and continue for about 3 kilometers until you reach the parking area at the base of Mount Aso.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Mount Aso via public transportation, take a train from Kumamoto Station to Aso Station. The journey takes about 40 minutes. Once you arrive at Aso Station, look for the bus stop outside the station. Take the Aso Kotsu bus heading towards Takawara. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes. Get off at the Takawara stop, and from there, you can walk to the entrance of Mount Aso, which is approximately a 10-minute walk.
