Getting There

    If you are driving, start from the center of Bungo and head south on Route 10. Follow the signs towards Takachiho. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach Takachiho town. Once in Takachiho, take a right onto Route 388. Continue for about 10 minutes until you see signs for Takachiho Gorge. Follow these signs until you reach the parking area for Takachiho Gorge. There are clear signs directing you to the gorge from the parking lot.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Takachiho Gorge via public transportation, start at Bungo's main bus terminal. Take the bus heading to Takachiho (check the schedule as it may vary). The journey takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at the Takachiho bus station, exit and follow the signs towards Takachiho Gorge. It's about a 20-minute walk from the bus station to the gorge. Just follow the main road, and you will see signs directing you to the entrance of the gorge.
